Before applying any lut make a basic exposure and white balance correction to your footage.
Then apply a lut that you can control with basic RGB Curves and make any adjustment you need like contrast and/or saturation, or leave as it is if you like it or blend it with opacity in the software of your choice to make if you like it less strong.
